Sandra here, from Little Learning Lovies. A while back I shared with you a cute memory game I created using some very cute little skunks and today, those little stinkers are back again to help your sweet learners practice their visual discrimination. We recommend this activity for children ages 3-6 but you may be able to use them earlier or later depending on your child. I can honestly say that even my bigger kids, who are about to turn 11, have been known to pull these out and play with them. ♥
What’s a Clip Card, Anyway?
If you’ve never used clip cards in with your kids, you are in for a treat! First, they are super simple to print and play. Unlike many printable games that require far more time to put together than to play, these take just a minute or two in set-up time and kids love to do them over and over.
To use these cards:
- Print them (Try high quality – Little Learning Lovies printables are designed to look fantastic! Kids learn better and are more engaged with high-quality printables, so do give that a try.)
- Laminate them (optional)
- Cut them apart (two cuts per page!)
- Hand them to your child with some paper clips or clothes pins
- Your child will ‘clip’ the small picture that is exactly the same as the big picture!
NOTE: You can make these self-checking by putting a very light pencil dot on the back of the right answer before you laminate.
These are not only fun for your own kids to play with, but several sets of these could make an adorable gift for any 3 to 6 year old! You can find another set, with penguins, for free at Little Learning Lovies and a third set, called “FROGTASTIC,” for free over at Homeschool Giveaways and Freebies! Just print, laminate, cut and package them all together in a zip top bag or plastic pencil box along with some clothes pins and you have a fun, educational and very frugal gift they’ll enjoy over and over again!
