It is no secret that I am a huge planner, list maker, and like to know what is going on at any given moment. That is why I was thrilled when I was asked to review the 2018 Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner.
Over the years I have tried many different planners in different sizes, styles, and layouts. At the moment I am using 3 different planners to record different areas of my life and to keep me on track. I am one of those people who need to compartmentalize their plans so that things don’t fall off of the grid.
I am super excited to tell you about a brand new planner that I have had the pleasure of reviewing. But that will be after after I tell you why using a planner makes your life easier! Be sure to read to the end to learn about The Homemakers Friend 2018 Daily Planner. Or you can go ahead and order yours HERE!
Here are 10 Ways a Planner Makes Life Easier
1. Keep up with appointments
That may be a no-brainer reason to use a planner, but some people do not think about planners. The truth is that some people use sticky notes, a magnet on the fridge, or some other means of keeping track of appointments.
Using a planner is by far the easiest way to keep up with appointments, if you ask me! You are able to see at a glance what is coming up and what your availability is. This keeps you from over-scheduling.
2. Track Activities
Just like keeping up with appointments, keeping track of activities is very important. When we don’t keep track we can let things slip through the cracks and miss parties, sporting events, or more.
I like to color code activities by family member so I can easily open my planner and know who needs to be where at what time.
3. Plan in Advance
Most planners come with monthly and yearly planning spreads! This is great for when you want to plan far ahead. Things like holiday gatherings and birthdays are easily kept up with by using a planner.
4. Meal Planning
Let’s face it, life can be overwhelming and chaotic. When we reach the end of the day the last thing we want to do is to stand in front of a refrigerator trying to figure out what we are going to make sure supper. Planning your meals in advance is a great way to keep that from happening. When you have a planner you can easily see what you need to prep for the week or even month ahead! 5. Track Moods and More
If you are like me and you suffer from depression from time to time, you may want to track your moods and monthly cycles. Each day you can write down how your mood was and track the patterns to see if there is a trigger that you may be missing.
6. Food Journal
Just like with moods, foods can trigger physical or emotional responses within ourselves. You can use a planner to easily track what you are eating to see if there is a pattern that could be triggering your issues.
7. Track your Health
I feel like I am on repeat here but seriously, using a planner is a great way to track patterns and when you track your health you will really find out what is going on with your body. Track headaches, muscle aches, anything that you have experienced a few times. Take it with you to the Dr. It is a great tool for them to help you.
8. Plan Your Budget and Finances
Keeping your family’s finances on track can be tricky! When you use a planner you can write in when bills are due, when you get paid, what you spent that day, etc… This is a great way of staying on top of your finances and keeping to a budget.
9. Record Memories
A lot of people like to use their planner in a completely backward way. Instead of writing what they have coming up they use it to record what they have done instead. It is a great way of keeping up with your memories and recording special life events.
10. Keep up with Your Lists
This is very obvious but a planner is a great way to keep up with your lists. You can keep up with your daily or weekly to-do’s. You can list out what you need shopping for the week. Any list you may need you can put right in your planner and know when and where it is! Handy, right?
A great planner that will help you do all of this is The Homemaker’s Friend
This planner is jam packed with planning pages, spaces for lists, and a place to keep your contacts.
Some of my favorite details in this planner are:
- The tabs – I love that this planner has tabs. For me that is a must. They did a great job breaking this into the main parts of the planner. There is a space for Year, Month, Week, Tasks, Projects, Info, and Shopping
- The colorful cover – When I opened the planner the first thing that stood out to me was that it is so pretty! The lemons inside of the teal blue bucket have great contrast to the barn wood behind them.
- The size – This planner is smaller than the others that I am currently using. It is 6″x9″. This makes it portable enough to throw in your purse and carry it around.
No matter if you are elaborate with your planning or are just starting out with planning, this is a great tool for busy moms! You will find a way to use it for each of the ways I listed above and probably more! Grab your copy today and see how creative you can be with your plans.
