2016 is here. It is rearing it’s somewhat ugly head and making itself known. We are already near a week in and I am stressed! My plate is full and my many hats are falling off. It is hard to know where and what I am to be doing. I would be completely lost without a plan!
If you know me you are not going to be shocked when I say that I am a bit of a planner addict. Ok, you may be shocked because that is sort of an understatement. I love my planners! I have to have them and notebooks to keep me sane. I use them daily. Let me tell you why.
I am a work-from-home, homeschooling, mom. That means that at any given moment I have a deadline to meet. It may be that I need to turn in grades. I may have a new blog post that is due. I could have an advertising commitment that needs to be met. And guess what… all of those could land on the same day. That is where my planners come in to play.
For years I have struggled to find a planning system that works well for me. I have given up hope that there is the perfect all-in-one system that has both the form and function that I desire. This year I am determined (that is my word for the year!) to have a better year. I want to be better organized and on top of everything. That is why I am using two planners! Crazy, right? Not really. I have one planner where I keep everything listed out and within hands reach. This allows me to see what I need to do that day. Then I have a planner for work. That is where I keep all of my deadlines for blog posts, and business stuffs.
In 2015 I just kinda winged it with the blog. I didn’t have a set plan and for that I have suffered. I plan (see what I did there??) to make 2016 a much, much better year!
Wanna know what I am using to stay organize?
My planner that keeps me sane is the Life Planner from Erin Condren. I love it because it has the day laid out in 3 sections. I use one section for home/personal, one for the blog, and one for design work that has to be done. There is a list on the bottom where I can track school work but really we just move on to our next lesson so there isn’t much planning there. I love that you can customize the covers and change them on a whim. I have even purchased one for S for her 10th birthday. She loves using it!!
I did say that there is a section for the blog. There is! I use the middle section in the day just to write down what is due for that day. It isn’t detailed or very thoughtful. Just a space for me to keep my bearings.
I love to color code things so I know just what is what.
Now, that is just what I use as my main brain. I do have another planner that I have pieced together for my blog. I use it to keep finances in order, work through blog posts, and things of that nature. I would love to show you that but well, it is a mess and full of confidential stuffs. I used the monthly sheets from The Multi Taskin Mom Planning Kit 2016 and then the rest is just found here and there.
Here are some other planners that I have used and love:
Here are goodies that I use in my planner daily:
