The New Year is here which means it is time for most people to sit down and really think about things they would like to improve about themselves in the New Year. Some of us will work on our weight, to eat healthier or maybe dare I say get more organized. I have actually taken time to think about a few things I would like to work on in regards to the parental home front and I thought maybe just maybe you would like to see what I have come up with……………
- I am going to say not right now a little less and replace it with sure why not: I can not tell you how many times I have let housework, writing and who knows what else keep me from doing what matters most. The housework and all those other things will be here long after my children are gone. I think however we are all in agreement that our children will not always be little.
- Listen more and react less: I breakup what seems to be a million arguments a day. Instead of reacting to the situation. I vow to listen more. After all someone taking a toy may not be a big deal to me but to a child that toy is the center of their universe. Therefore I need to try and see things from their point of view.
- Take time to show them I have a fun side: Currently I am quiet certain that my children think my husband is the only fun one. Usually this is because I am the one worrying about messes projects will make or I am busy trying to stay on task. But these things are not building lasting memories. Building memories is what I need to be focused on.
What are some goals that you have on the parental home front? Together we can do this!!
