Game Night

Grab your favorite bottle of wine, cheese tray, and a few of your favorite games. Some adult go-to’s are games like Backgammon, playing cards (for a good game of Gin Rummy), or Scrabble. Game nights are a great way to enhance communication and learn more about your spouse, all while having fun. You can even throw a game in your game console and enjoy a game on the big screen.

Looking for other adult-games ideas? Try these:

Dinner-Themed Night

You can never go wrong with a good home cooked meal. To make a meal even more yummy, try a dinner-themed date night. Start by choosing a location; for example, Italy. Then, do a bit of research on some Italian inspired meals and recipes. Once you find one you like, get the ingredients (and a good bottle of wine) and set a time to start cooking.

Make sure you are cooking with your spouse, and don’t be afraid to get a little close while cooking in the kitchen. Preparing the meal and enjoying it together can be more romantic than you may think! Some other locations to consider for a dinner theme are: France, Japan, Mexico, or Greece.

Karaoke & Dance Night

At first it may be a little nerve wracking to drop your guard to actually sing and dance in front of your spouse. However, think of how much fun it could be. To ease into it, consider singing and dancing together. Take turns choosing the song and go at it.

Movie Night

Of course you can’t go wrong with a good old fashioned movie night. Now is the time to pull out those movies that you’ve been putting off to watch, or find some new releases that you’ve had your eye on. Regardless of what you choose, don’t forget the popcorn, drinks, and your favorite candy!

Spa Night

Nothing says romantic date night like an at-home spa night. Take it up a few notches and turn your bedroom into a luxurious hotel-like spa room. Add some flower petals, candles, and diffuse your favorite sensual essential oil. Take turns giving each other a massage from head to toe. This time of physical touch creates a perfect time of bonding, sharing, and relaxing. If you plan ahead of time, consider taking a couples massage course without leaving home!

Having to stay in because of the pandemic doesn’t have to be boring. Use these budget-friendly at-home date night ideas as a time to get super creative and grow closer to your spouse.
