As far back as I can remember I have loved to cook, sew, and craft. My mamaw had me to the counter to help with baking as soon as I could reach the counter while standing on a chair. Most of my beloved memories stem from being knee deep in dough, hot glue, paint, or markers.
Sadly my mamaw passed 7 years ago and I do not have her here to teach my children the same amazing things she taught me.
When the opportunity to review The Homemakers Mentor arose I jumped on it. If you know anything about me you know that I love to prep and plan. (We will not talk much about the follow through, okay?!) I was thrilled when the CD arrived. I cannot begin to tell you about all of the greatness in this one compact disk but I am going to try! Read more about this great resource HERE.
Please note that I was given a copy of this curriculum for free in exchange for an honest review. Any and all opinions are my own. A favorable review was not required.
What I thought…
When I first opened the disk the project that jumped out at me was the Aprons for Mom and Me. I guess it jumped at me first because I love to sew. And have worked with S on a few projects over the years to hopefully instill a love of sewing in her. I went right out and bought the towels and fabric to create our aprons. Unfortunately life has kept getting in my way and we haven’t been able to complete them yet. I guess that just means another great post for you guys?!
I went from that right to the Vintage Classics folder. Oh-my-word!! What a collection. I spent a better part of an hour going through the When Mother Lets Us Cook cookbook that was originally written in 1908. I loved how the writer said that you needed to use a “perfectly fresh egg” in each recipe.
I moved from that to the Vision of Order folder. Yep, you guessed it, jackpot!! There is gold in that folder. If you want to get your home in order and get your kids to help and make them accountable, this is the way to go. The book is full of great tips and advice that helps you and your children understand where and when to clean and why!! There are several different printables that you can edit in your PDF viewer and print out. Great, right?!
Do you enjoy cooking and baking with your children? Well this has you covered. There is an entire folder dedicated to pizza and ice-cream. (plus many other great recipes) It is on the top of my to-do list when we have some free time over the holidays. I think that my children will thoroughly enjoy it.
The greatness continues!
I get to giveaway 2 copies of this CD to two of my lucky readers!! To enter just follow the prompts bellow. Make sure you tell your friends so they can enter too. If you complete anything from this collection I would love to hear about it.
