I am trying very hard to become more conscious about the way I use toxins in my home. Over the years I have read more and more about how candles can release toxic fumes into the air as they are burned or the wax is melted. While I do still use candles, I am finding it very important to find safe, easy to use, alternatives.
My favorite thing to do to infuse my home with a welcoming fragrance is to diffuse essential oils.
Essential oils, when used properly, are the perfect tool to change your emotions, sooth aching muscles, or clean through tough messes. Essential oils are also the perfect tool to make your home smell like a haven in any season.
My Favorite Essential Oils for Fall
- Orange
- Clove Bud
- Cinnamon Bark
- Nutmeg
- Ginger Root
- Frankincense
- Cardamom
- Patchouli
- Cypress
- Spruce
- Bergamot
I use each of the essential oils listed above alone or as blends in my diffuser all season long.
I love how it makes my home feel and smell without releasing any toxins into the air.

My go-to Essential Oil Blend for Fall
“Pumpkin” Spice
This is my favorite blend to put in my diffuser all year long. While it does smell of a delicious pumpkin pie baking in the oven, it is fantastic to use even when the leaves are not covering the ground.
- 6 Drops Orange
- 3 Drops Cinnamon Bark
- 2 Drops Nutmeg
Tip = you can add a drop or two of coffee essential oil to the blend to make it have a late’ feel.
